2020 Academic Spell Bowl Recap

553 Spell Bowl teams and over 5,800 students from across Indiana recently competed in the 2020 Virtual Indiana Academic Spell Bowl across the Elementary, Junior and Senior divisions.

Junior and Senior teams competed in local area contests, then state-wide results were compiled to determine State Finalists for each of the 4 enrollment classes. This year, in our virtual contest, we identified individuals that achieved a perfect score in their Area round. These individuals were invited to participate in the Virtual State Finals in a special individual division contest as well, regardless of whether their team already qualified as a team finalist. The State Finalist teams, and qualifying individuals, competed again on November 10th (Senior) and 11th (Junior) for State placement awards and recognition.
