Coronavirus Resources for Educators
IASP is committed to the well-being of our educators and students, and thus have been considering our upcoming events as listed below. We want to allow all students a chance to participate, succeed, and be recognized, while also being conscious of the many concerns relative to the coronavirus. We are also committed to serving our future school leaders as they seek to develop and lead within our schools, knowing that they too have concerns for their students and their own families. Holding these in-person events on their established dates we knew would be difficult, so we were already considering how to conduct these virtually, or to alter the date, so all can experience the program benefits.
Given the recent announcement from Governor Holcomb, several school districts closing, and feedback from our Academic Coaches and Executive Committee, IASP is postponing all events until we have clarity on when students and staff will return to school. Our intent is to still hold all the listed programs this spring. Taking this approach allows us to deliver the same high quality programs you expect from IASP, and to communicate with you once we have better information on the impact caused by the coronavirus. We value you and want to limit you making plans, and then changing those due to further school closings or continued health concerns.
We are confident that these programs will be conducted with the same high quality we all expect, while remaining flexible in timing since health concerns may further delay students returning to school. Future communications will be coming directly to you regarding specific programs, so please continue to check your email. We will also post information on our website, www.iasp.org and via Twitter and Facebook (@INPrincipals).
Thank you for your leadership and support for students in our schools and through our IASP programs. The current coronavirus health situation is causing us all unique challenges, and causing us to consider how we best take care of our kids, and ourselves. We have created a list of sample resources for you on our website and you can access those here. IASP is available in any way to support you and your students, please contact us at any point so we can serve you.
