After a great deal of thoughtful consideration and discussion, the Board of Indiana ASCD has made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization, effective at the close of 2024.

This decision has not been made lightly. Over the past several months, we have carefully evaluated our position following the recent merger of ASCD and ISTE and the subsequent cessation of state affiliate programs. Our mission has always been to support Indiana educators in curriculum and professional development, while the new national association is focused on driving revenue just to that national association. It is clear that the landscape of educational professional development and support with the new organization has shifted, and these changes have profoundly impacted our ability to sustain our state affiliate in its current form.

The IN ASCD Board Members will continue to seek ways to support Indiana educators in the area of curriculum development and we know that we are fortunate as a state to have many resources to do so.  Our Education Service Centers and the Indiana Learning Lab are two entities that are continually finding ways to increase the capacity of educators to address teaching and learning.
