Recap – Cheer Coach Conference & Student Leadership Workshop

In Cheer Championship, Cheerleading, Coach Education, Student Programs

The IASP Department of Student Programs kicked off the year’s calendar of events with the Indiana Cheer Coaches Conference and Student Leadership Workshop in partnership with the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders. The event was held at Warren Central HS on July 27th.

Coaches had the opportunity to learn from Tony Nash, the Assistant Head Cheer Coach at Indiana University, and the Head Coach/Director of the USA Cheer National Teams! Many coaches throughout the day commented that this was one of the best presentations that they had attended in recent years. Tony led 2 sessions on different topics and talked with coaches one-on-one during breaks to answer questions.

At this conference, the 2019-20 Spirit Rules Updates were covered with our Indiana Cheer Championship Rules Interpreter. If you missed this event, but plan to compete in the 2019 Indiana Cheer Championship, there are still 2 opportunities to get the updated information. Free webinars will be held on September 4th and October 3rd, both at 6pm, and are open to all cheer coaches, regardless of intent to compete in the Indiana Cheer Championship. Coaches of teams that do plan to compete must meet the requirement of having at least 1 coach per team roster attend a rules update (conference or webinar).
